Wayne County Schools Emphasizing Prevention and Prompt Attention
Posted by Tim Conzett, 2009-11-15

With all of the news surrounding the flu (influenza),Wayne County Schools wants to assure everyone that we are taking every precaution recommended to prevent and/or limit the spread of the sickness. Disinfectants are used daily on common surfaces such as door knobs, desk tops, water fountains, computer keyboards, etc. We are encouraging frequent hand washing with soap and water for all students and staff and hand sanitizing stations are available in all cafeterias and other common locations. Our schools are emphasizing common hygiene practice of covering the nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing and washing hands with soap and water afterwords. We encourage parents to keep students home if a fever or other flu symptoms are present and will contact parents as quickly as possible if symptoms present while at school.

The central office staff is monitoring attendance rates at each school and working closely with the Wayne County Health Department to ensure a safe and heathy environment for our students.
